James Samuel ``Jimmie'' McCracken Sr., 76, of Route 3, Maxmeadows, and formerly of Virginia Beach, a retired businessman, died June 24, 1995, in Veterans Care, Roanoke, Va.
He was a native of Tennessee, and was Protestant. He served in the U.S. Marines for 11 years. Jimmie was groundskeeper at Princess Anne Memorial Park for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Warren McCracken; one son, James Samuel ``Jay'' McCracken Jr. of Maxmeadows; one sister, Pearl Patterson of Georgia; and two brothers, Paul McCracken of Tennessee and Carol McCracken of Texas.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Princess Anne Memorial Park by the Rev. Warren Wilson. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
