William Mitchell Kirk Sr., 68, of the 5100 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died June 26, 1995, in a Hampton hospital.
A native of Kansas City, Mo., he was retired from Tidewater Construction Company and was a member of Local (NU)147, International Operating Engineers, DAV Federal Chapter (NU)22, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Force and Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille K. Kirk; two sons, William M. Kirk Jr. and James Lloyd Kirk, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Jane Sandstoe of Palm Desert, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Philip J. Parker and the Rev. Albert Lee Bush. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
