Naomi Davis, of the 3500 block of Trant Ave., a retired day care provider for over 20 years, died June 25, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Davis, a native of Kinston, N.C., was the widow of the Rev. Percy Davis. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Norfolk, the Deaconess Board, Missionary Board and Steward Board. She was a member of United Order of Tents Marion (NU)33, the Salvation Army and Eastern Star Maude Armstrong (NU)90.
Survivors include five daughters, Cora Gray, Ruth R. Hassell and Marionette Butts, all of Chesapeake, Essie Jackson of Silver Spring, Md., Arizona Acors of New York; a son, Dannis Tillery of Martinburg, W.Va.; two foster children, Bernice Barnes of Chesapeake and Tyrone Freeman of Canada; three sons-in-law, Benjamin Gray of Chesapeake, Joseph Acors of New York and Oscar Butts of Chesapeake; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. John H. Foster. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at the home, 3521 Trant Ave., Norfolk, for the funeral procession to the church at 11 a.m. Remains will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends at 3521 Trant Ave., Norfolk. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
