Cdr. Gerald ``Jim'' Weil, USN (Ret.), 75, of Bridle Way, died June 28, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Cdr. Weil was born in Chicago and was retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years. He was an avid golfer, a member of Lake Wright Men's Golf Association, active member and past commander of American Legion Post (NU)35.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret ``Peggy'' Weil; three daughters, Mickey Greene of Virginia Beach, Patricia Vinson of Goldsboro, N.C., and Becky Spears of Norfolk; two sons, James A. Weil and Dr.J. Michael Weil, both of Virginia Beach; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
