VIRGINIA POWER CROWING OVER NUKE-PLANT EFFICIENCY

Virginia Power said its two nuclear power plants were among the lowest-cost electricity producers in a survey of nuclear plants by the Washington-based Utility Data Institute. The North Anna plant was the lowest-cost producer of 70 commercial plants rated: generated electricity at $11.08 per megawatt hour generated last year. The Surry plant finished 12th, at $15.34 per megawatt hour. The national average was $22.19 per megawatt hour. by CNB
