Ruby Arthur Fine, 91, a co-founder of Fine's men's shops, died July 1, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Fine was born in Frostburg, Md. He was chairman of the board emeritus of Fine's and a member of Temple Emanuel, Virginia Beach. He was very active in the Jewish community in Norfolk and Virginia Beach in both religious and philanthropic endeavors. He was the widower of Tillie Goldman Fine and was also a member of Temple Bethel, Norfolk.
Survivors include his son, Barry S. Fine and wife, Sonya; daughter, Jo Renee Fine, and son-in-law, Edward Trieber; two grandsons, Mitchell A. Fine and his wife Peggy, and Nolan R. Fine; one granddaughter, Jessica Trieber; and four great-granddaughters, Stacie, Jennifer, Morgan and Blair Fine.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Elliot Marmon and Rabbi David Abrams. Memorial donations can be made to the Tillie Fine Memorial Fund at the Diabetes Institutes Foundation, Eastern Virginia Medical School. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements.
