William John Bazemore, 76, of the 2400 block of Lofurno Road, died Saturday July 1, 1995, in his residence. He was born in Metter, Ga., and was the son of the late James S. and Katie Turner Bazemore and husband of Virginia Benton Bazemore. He was retired after 20 years from the U.S. Navy and was also a retired security officer at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Portsmouth Lodge 898 and Solomon Masonic Lodge (NU)1 Savannah, Ga. He was a Baptist. Funeral service and burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Chesapeake Care Hospice, Chesapeake General Hospital.
