SIDNEY A. MATTOX

Sidney Allen Mattox, 78, of the 600 block of Mt. Vernon Ave., died Tuesday, June 27, 1995, in his home.

He was a native of Hurts, Va., and was retired after 35 years of service from Portsmouth Floral Co. as a floral designer. He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Seaboard Masonic Lodge (NU)56, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Mt. Horeb Chapter (NU)11, Khedive Temple of the Shrine, and Portsmouth Elks (NU)82.

He is survived by his sister, Ethel Creider of Summerfield, Fla.

A memorial service will be conducted with Masonic Rites at 3 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Kathryn Pigg.
