Myrtle Elois Tyus Dixon Rinehart, 83, of the 5200 block of Ambassador Drive, a homemaker, died July 1, 1995, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Mrs. Rinehart was born in Fairfield, Texas. She was a member of Gateway Freewill Baptist Church, St. Johns Sunday School class and Caleb Warriors. She was a past member of the Norfolk Federation of Garden Clubs and a member of O.E.S. Norview Chapter 131, Granby Band Parents Association and Crossroads P.T.A. and was a seamstress for Evelyn Ott School of Dance.
Survivors include her husband, Tom B. Rinehart USN Ret. and security officer NAS Ret. of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Elois Myrl Dixon Rhodes and son-in-law Ed Rhodes of Norfolk; a sister, Faye Jackson of Turnertown, Texas; two brothers, Haynie B. Tyus of Fairfield, Texas, and Glenn Ray Tyus of Waco, Texas; three grandsons, Troy Rhodes, Kent Rhodes and Matt Rhodes of Norfolk; stepdaughter Corinne Evans of Norfolk; stepsons Richard Rinehart and wife Joanna of Chesapeake, Thomas Rinehart and wife Sue Ann of Gates, N.C., and Ronald Rinehart and wife Kathy of Gates, N.C.; stepgrandchildren Joseph Rinehart of Chesapeake, Adriane Rinehart and Stephanie Rinehart of Gates, N.C., and Lorry Ann Spencer and husband Dave of Norfolk; and stepgreat-grandchildren David Spencer, Chad Spencer and Kyle Spencer, all of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Gateway Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Dale Burden. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Hampton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 4 to 6 p.m. today. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
