Walter Patrick Upton, 24, a resident of Waverly, died Sunday, July 2, 1995, in Helfin, Ala.
A native of Sussex County, he was a 1988 graduate of Tidewater Academy and a 1991 graduate of Richard Bland Community College.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Lynn Fowler Upton of Waverly; his parents, Ted T. Upton Sr. of Stony Creek and Pattie M. Upton of Waverly; stepmother, Goldie Upton of Stony Creek; a sister, Sylvia U. Norris of Waverly; three brothers, Ted T. Upton Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C., Edward T. Upton of Stony Creek and Marvin Hebb of Terra Alta, W.Va.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mayes of Yale; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Addie K. Evans of Stony Creek; paternal stepgrandmother, Alice U. McLean of Boydton; two nephews, Joshua Robert Norris and Marty Hebb; two nieces, Tara Leigh Norris and Lindsey Clare Upton. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, John T. Jr. and Weslie Fowler Bradshaw of Waverly.
Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Wednesday, July 5, 1995, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Phillip Upton. Committal services will be held at 4 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Park in South Hill, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
