Charles Robert Balderson Sr., 70, of the 200 block of Williamson Road, died July 3, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Balderson was a native of Parkersburg, W.Va. He retired after 38 years from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he was superintendent of Paint Shop (NU)71 for 20 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge (NU)178 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie H. Balderson; a daughter, Regina Balderson Bush of Portsmouth; a son, Charles R. Balderson Jr. of Danville, Va.; two grandchildren, Laura B. Murray and Charles R. Balderson III; and a great-grandchild, Brittani Murray.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Philip J. Parker. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites and military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
