A chart in Sunday's MetroNews section reversed the average
faculty salaries in the South and in the country as a whole. In
1994, the average was $48,200 in the United States and $44,487 in
the South, according to the Southern Regional Education Board.
Rep. Owen B. Pickett (D-2nd District) voted in favor of a
constitutional amendment allowing states to outlaw physical
desecration of the American flag. The Roll Call information box in
Monday's MetroNews section had Pickett's vote wrong.
A story in the Saturday MetroNews section about the Virginia
Marine Science Museum's Dolphin Count listed catfish, eels, sharks,
rays, shrimp and other crustaceans as part of the bottlenose
dolphin's diet. While dolphins worldwide generally eat these, the
dolphins off Virginia's coast eat mostly fish - primarily spot,
croaker and trout.
An endowed chair honoring Glenn R. Mitchell is the fifth endowed
chair at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. EVMS officials
will decide who fills the chair. A story last Tuesday had errors.
A headline on Friday's MetroNews front had a wrong name for the
Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority. by CNB
