NEW NAVY HOSPITAL MAY GET $57 MILLION

A total of $57.4 million for new construction at the Navy Regional Medical Center was included in the FY96 Military Appropriations Bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives in June.

The allocation will continue the extensive building program already under way at the Portsmouth hospital, with $47.9 applied to the ongoing project and $9.5 million for a Bachelor Enlisted Quarters on the base.

In addition, the bill included $4.3 million for a medical and dental clinic at the Chesapeake Naval Security Group Activity N.W. by CNB
