As a Vietnam veteran, member of Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion, I was happy to hear that the House voted to protect the flag.
However, there is something grossly awry when a nation has to legislate patriotism.
I doubt if 10 percent of Americans know what nationalism is, yet it is the sole most important factor in the success of any state. We must recognize and treat the cause, not the symptom. I suggest we start with the last three words of our pledge of allegiance: ``Justice for all.''
