Carlo Lamont Downey, 18, of the 400 block of Dwight Drive, died on July 5, 1995, in Norfolk.
He was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include his mother, Lessie W. Downey of Portsmouth; sister, Roslynd; three brothers, David E. Downey and Gregory T. Downey, both of Portsmouth, and Michael I. Downey of Kentucky; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Downey of Portsmouth and Mary Anthony also of Portsmouth; one cousin, Yvette Bowser of Virginia Beach; one aunt, Carlotta Bowser of Virginia Beach; one uncle, Lester Ward Jr. of Portsmouth; one great-uncle Lucious Ward of Portsmouth; a close friend, Shanteingo Watson of Portsmouth. He was predeceased by his father, David Downey.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Dr. T.M. Steele at the New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville in Portsmouth. The place of burial is Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake. There will be a viewing today from noon to 8 p.m.. Family and friends will assemble at 405 Dwight Drive in Portsmouth Saturday at 10:15 a.m. for the processional to the church. Serenity Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
