Police closed several blocks of General Booth Boulevard near the Oceanfront on Thursday after a ``suspicious device'' was found in front of a home.
Explosives experts said the device, found in the 500 block of General Booth Blvd., was a military grenade simulator. ``It did have the capacity of causing injury,'' said Lou Thurston, a police spokesman.
The grenade was taken to an undisclosed location for disposal. It was unclear where it came from or why it ended up where it did.
The road was closed for about a half-hour between San Marcos Lane and Rudee Inlet.
