Daniel Leslie ``Dan'' Garrett, 82, of the 300 block of South St., retired self-employed owner of Garrett's Shoe Store, died July 7, 1995, in Hallmark Center, Windsor, N.C.
Mr. Garrett was born in Vance County, N.C. He was a member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church and the Vaughan Evans V.F.W. Post (NU)7317. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Cecelia ``Dolly'' Garrett; a daughter, Dianne Garrett Blanton of Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Mildred Ashworth of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Clarice Barbato of New York City; and a grandchild, Elizabeth Garrett Blanton of Greensboro.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by Dr. Kenneth Hall. Burial will be in Ahoskie Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Ahoskie Rescue Squad or Ahoskie United Methodist Church, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
