Raymond Mitchell Sr., 78, of the 100 block of Morton St., died July 7, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Franklin, Va., Mr. Mitchell was retired from Southern Public Service Authority. He was the son of the late Frank Napoleon and Diana Brown Mitchell and the widower of Alice P. Mitchell. He was a member of New St. Mount and served on the board and as deacon.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond Mitchell Jr. of Dover, Delaware, Carl Mitchell and James Peete of Washington, D.C.; son-in-law, Paul McGlynn of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Lois Mitchell McGlynn of Atlanta, Ga., and Arlise Mitchell of Franklin, Va.; daughter-in-law, Tina Mitchell of Dover, Delaware; brother, Arthur Mitchell of Pittsburgh, Pa., sister, Alyce Thomas of Tampa, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, 1995, at 1 p.m. in New St. Mount Church by the Rev. Charles Collins. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home in charge.
