William Rupert Gammon, 87, of the 200 block of Old Drive died Sunday, July 9, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Gammon was born in Old Norfolk County and was the son of the late Charles Clifton and Annie Baxter Gammon. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Mayry member of the Administrative Board; a member of the United Methodist Men, and a charter member of the Builders Bible Class. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Curling Gammon of Chesapeake; his son and daughter-in-law, Glenn L. and Carol Ann Gammon of Fremont, Ohio; two sisters, Josie E. Gammon and Edith G. Knight both of Seaford, Delaware; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Ray and Jeanne Pebworth Gammon both of Seaford, Delaware and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:AM, Thursday, July 13, 1995 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. W. Roberts McIvor. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
The family will receive friends at 224 Old Drive, Chesapeake.
Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of Oak Grove United Methodist Church or to the Hope Haven Children's Home.
