Earl Warren Meade Sr., 74, a former resident of Portsmouth, Va., died Monday July 10, 1995, after a long illness.
Mr. Meade was a native of Gary, West Virginia, and was the widower of Elizabeth Lawrence Meade. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty M. Marroquin of Fayetteville, N.C., Mary M. Holland and her husband, Garvin, of Suffolk, Va.; one son, Earl W. Meade, Jr. and his wife, Jacqueline, of Portsmouth; three sisters, Thelma Buchanan, Hazel Warburton, and Helen Johnson, all of Bluewell, West Virginia; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mr. Meade was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Bowling Meade; a sister, Mary Brewster; and three brothers, Homer, Edgar Eugene and William H. Meade.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday July 13, 1995 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Va. by Rev. Edmund Ellis. Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) and other times at 9640 Southwestern Blvd., Suffolk, Va.
