Rev. Clyde Ellis Lewis, 86, of the 700 block of First Colonial Road, died July 10, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
He was born in McComb, Miss., was a retired pastor and ordained minister with Church of the Nazarene and a member of Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene, Virginia Beach. Rev. Lewis had held pastorates in Virginia and Mississippi.
Survivors include his wife, Mary V. Lewis; two daughters, Jean Belangia and her husband, Kenneth, of Virginia Beach and Janice M. Townsend and her husband, Bobby, of Midlothian, Va.; a son, Tommy C. Lewis, and his wife, Pat, of Woodbridge, Va.; a stepdaughter, Jean Jackson, and her husband, Marshall, of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and various nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Loren Gould and the Rev. Walter Masters. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at other times will be at 264 Capot Road, Virginia Beach.
