Edward J. Herring, 69, died July 12, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Herring was born in Wilmington, N.C., and was retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility. He was a member of Bayside Christian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Herring; a daughter, Linda H. Carpenter and two sons, E. Jural Herring Jr. and Bruce G. Herring, all of Virginia Beach; a sister, Jeanette Williams of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and two granddaughters, Cristy Carpenter and Ashley Herring, both of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Raymond B. Good and Pastor Randall Childress. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at the home of their daughter, Linda Carpenter, 801 St. James Drive, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
