The Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority will receive $233,000 to fight drugs in public housing developments.
The funds will be used to eliminate the sale, possession and use of drugs within the public housing community. Drug prevention programs will be instituted in adult literacy and vocational training. A youth substance program will be started.
``This grant will help pay for the security presence needed to discourage drug dealers and promote healthy lifestyles,'' said U.S. Rep. Norman Sisisky.
