Marjorie Barrett Shirley, 75, of 3301 Lilac Drive, died July 14, 1995, in Suffolk.
Mrs. Shirley was born in Norfolk. She retired as owner of Shirley's Bookstore, was a member of Rock Church of Virginia Beach, active in the adult choir and was the widow of R. Bryan Shirley.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine S. Benton of Virginia Beach; three sons, Glenn R. Shirley, Ron B. Shirley and Danny L. Shirley, all of Portsmouth; a sister, Ethel B. Housley of Norfolk; five grandchildren, Sam B. Shirley of Suffolk, Angie Shirley, Dawn Shirley and Sherre Benton, all of Virginia Beach, and Danielle Shirley of Portsmouth; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Jimmy C. Jenkins. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. today and other times at her residence. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Rock Church, 640 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464.
