CRIME LINE

Local police are asking public assistance in these cases: PORTSMOUTH

On June 27, between 1:30 and 5 p.m., someone entered a home on the 200 block of Riverside Drive, ransacked it and tore up an upstairs bathroom. Two diamond rings with gold bands were taken. Televisions, a VCR and stereo equipment were not disturbed.

One ring is a ladies engagement ring, 14 carat gold with a 3/8th carat diamond in the center and two 1/8th carat diamonds on each side. The other ring is a ladies wedding ring, 14 carat gold set with nine diamonds. NORFOLK

Alexis Lee Blount is wanted on charges including throwing a missile at an occupied home.

Blount, 32, is black, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 pounds. His last known address was in the 1800 block of Bonron St. He frequents the 3000 block of Tidewater Drive and the city of Chesapeake.

The Launda-Kleen Laundromat in the 9500 block of First View St. in Ocean View was burglarized March 31, April 9, April 24 and June 26.

The suspects are believed to be three or four juveniles, all male. Cigarettes and candy were taken.

Entry was gained by prying open a side door with a tire iron. CHESAPEAKE\ On July 4, about 4:30 a.m., a 17-year-old student and his friends were standing in front of a building in the 100 block of Crescent Place apartments when they were confronted by two men, one carrying a handgun.

The student was forced to lie face down on the ground. The gunman searched him looking for money. When he found none, he shot the teenager in the back, wounding him.

The suspect is described as black, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white Nike T-shirt, blue shorts and black-and-white Nike shoes. He was armed with a blue-steel revolver and fled in a white Oldsmobile. VIRGINIA BEACH

Eugene Nakia Harley, 20, is wanted for robbery, abduction and use of a firearm.

Harley is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds with black hair, a mustache and goatee. He has brown eyes.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

Robert Eugene Jackson, 23, is wanted for malicious assault, burglary and failing to appear in court.

Jackson is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 175 pounds with long brown hair, a mustache and goatee, hazel eyes and tattoos.

He is considered armed and dangerous. HAMPTON

Jermaine L. Marshall, 22, is wanted for attempted maiming and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Marshall is black, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 175 pounds.
