O'Berry Francis died July 15, 1995.
He was a native of Boykins, Va., and was retired from the U.S. Navy with 23 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Chesapeake and attended its Sunday School and Brotherhood.
Survivors include two brothers, Moses Francis of Miami, Fla., and Ray Francis of Portsmouth; his sister-in-law, Evalia Francis of Miami, Fla.; a devoted friend, Doretha Goodman; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Sidney Foster. Burial will be in St. Julian Creek Family Cemetery, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. The family will assemble at 2006 Effingham St., Portsmouth, at 11 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
