Una Mae Baines Hollowell, 92, formerly of the 3100 block of White Marsh Road, died July 19, 1995, in Hillhaven Nursing Center, Suffolk.
She was born in Nansemond Co., Va., and was the widow of Colin Hugh Hollowell. She was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church in Suffolk. She was also involved in the Florence Brinkley Missionary Circle and Nettie Harrell Bible Class.
She is survived by six daughters, Frances H. Kelley of Suffolk; Una Lorraine Ashley of Newport News, Anna H. Bangley of Lynchburg, Doris H. Byrd of Suffolk, Barbara J. Hollowell of Norfolk, and Linda Ray Hughes of Virginia Beach; three sons, Raymond E. Hollowell of Portsmouth, Edward H. Hollowell Sr. of Suffolk, and Charles N. Hollowell Sr. of Suffolk; two half-brothers, Robert P. Baines of Suffolk and R. Thomas Baines of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Ludie Mae Taylor Baines and Julius E. Baines.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Rev. John R. Kimball in Cypress Chapel Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Cypress Chapel Christian Church or a favorite charity.
