Junious I. Copeland, 69, of the 3600 block of Jackson Road, died July 14, 1995 in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Copeland was a native of Nansemond County and was retired from Amadas Industries after 18 years. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he served as the church sexton, and he was also a member of the Missionary Lodge (NU)2.
He is survived by his wife, Kate M. Hall Copeland; one daughter, Prentis A. Copeland of Suffolk; four brothers-in-law, William T. Rodgers, Thomas E. Hunter, and Eraster Purvington, all of Suffolk, and James Hall of Aliquippa, Pa.; five sons, Clifton A. Copeland, Russell B. Copeland, Lindell D. Copeland, and Thaddeus C. Copeland, all of Suffolk, and Randolph Copeland of Chesapeake, Va.; four sisters, Marazella Copeland Brown of Brooklyn, N.Y., Minnie Copeland Ely, Patsy Copeland Pope, Thelma Copeland Rodgers, all of Suffolk; one brother, Joe Lewis Copeland of Boston, Mass.; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Hunter and Catherine Copeland, both of Suffolk; three daughters-in-law, Cathy Skeeter Copeland, Sarah Outland Copeland of Suffolk, and Miriam Sherrod Copeland of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Copeland was predeceased by his parents, Lizzie Boone-Copeland and Charlie Copeland.
A funeral will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1656 Copeland Road, Suffolk, by Rev. Horace H. Wade Jr. Burial will be in Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery.
