Captain Asbjorn Abel Haus, 78, a Gloucester resident for over 25 years, died Sunday, July 23, 1995.
Mr. Haus was born in Bergan, Norway. He was a retired marine surveyor for National Cargo Bureau. He was a member of Apostles Luterian Church, Gloucester, the Masonic Lodge and was one of the first volunteers at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester and was active until last year. He had over 10,000 hours of service to the hospital. He was a veteran of WWII and was decorated by the King of Norway.
Survivors include a daughter, Carey Haus Beverly of Portsmouth; a sister, Gunvor Brandt-Hansen of Bergen, Norway; and two nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Apostles Luterian Church by the Rev. Theodore M. Schulz. Visitation will be after the service. Memorials to Apostles Luterian Church or to the Riverside Walter Reed Hospital Auxiliary. Andrews Funeral Home in charge.
