Effie Mae Byrd, of the 3000 block of Chamberlayne Ave., died July 23, 1995.
She was a native of Scranton, N.C., and was the widow of Ernest Lee Byrd Jr. She was Baptist and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Lynnhaven Chapter (NU)184.
Survivors include one brother-in-law, Royce, and his wife, Virginia Byrd, of Wilmington, N.C.; special friends, Robert and Darleene Barber of Charlottesville, Va.; and nieces and nephews in North Carolina.
The services will be private. An Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today with a visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
