Beginning Aug. 1, new payment sites will open at neighborhood retailers in Virginia Power's Chesapeake, South Boston and Leesburg districts. Other new locations will be phased in throughout the company's service area over the next eight months, providing 200 locations. Virginia Power has contracted with American Payment Systems, Inc. of New Haven, Conn., to establish the authorized payment agent locations. Customers will be able to make payments at local businesses such as grocery and drug stores. Most of the centers provide evening, Saturday and Sunday hours. by CNB
