Francis Joseph Williams, 82, formerly of Portsmouth, died July 28, 1995, in Rocky Mount, N.C.
He was a native of Chester, Pa., a retired equipment operator for U.S. Gypsum Co., a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Beasley Foundation and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Minnie Williams.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Garloch of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five grandchildren, Dwayne and Mark Feagans, April, Jason and Joshua Garloch; three stepdaughters, Margaret Ashley, Verna Lee Wood and Joann Atkins; 15 stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Gene Primm. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
