Chief James H. Schell, U.S. Navy Retired, 66, of the 3900 block of Wyckoff Dr., died July 28, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Schell was born in Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of St. Gregorys Catholic Church and its choir in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mr. Schell was a Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus, Council 9056. Mr. Schell retired from the U. S. Navy after 27 years of service and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Schell was predeceased by Yvonne Lemr Schell and a daughter, Julia Y. Schell.
Survivors include his wife, Isabel Ingram Schell of Virginia Beach; 4 daughters, Charlotte Dobson of Boca Raton, Fla., Marie Jett of Pacific, Missouri, Deborah Block of Norfolk, Va., and Virginia LaBreque of Sterling, Conn.; 2 sons, Donald J. Schell of Cary, N.C., and Frederick R. Schell of Blacksburg, Va.; 3 stepdaughters, Patricia I. Messina of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Sharon I. Wyatt of San Antonio, Texas, and Gayle I. Whitmire of Houston, Texas; 3 stepsons, Mark T. Ingram of Houston, Texas, Stephen L. Ingram of Chesapeake, Va., and Paul M. Ingram of Albany, Ga.; a brother, William Schell of Columbus, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; and 9 Step grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 1995, at St. Gregorys Catholic Church. Burial will be at Rosewood Memorial Park. A Christian Wake service will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 in the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements.
