Ralph Deans ``Monk'' Harrell, 59, of 13903 Jefferson Davis Highway, died July 28, 1995 in a Hopewell hospital. He was a native of Hertford County, N.C., a member of Center Grove Baptist Church, Ahoskie, N.C., a retired welder for Adamson Company, Inc. Chester, Va. and son of the late Raleigh C. Harrell.
Surviving are his mother: Nettie R. Harrell, Newport News, Va.; 2 daughters: Sandra Adkins, New Kent County, Va., Deana Gray, Henrico County, Va.; 2 sons, Scott Harrell, Richmond, Va., Stan Harrell, Chester, Va.; six sisters, Barbara Perry, Lucy Paul, both of Newport News, Va., Linda Martorano, Eleanor Runfola, both of Scottsdale, Ariz., Evelyn Palma, Hollbrook, MA, Faye Askew, Suffolk, Va; 1 brother, Adolph M. Harrell, Ahoskie, N.C., and 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, N.C. by the Rev. Jack Byrd, with interment to follow in Ahoskie Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Adolph M. Harrell, 331 Center Grove Rd., Ahoskie, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to Center Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, Center Grove Rd., Ahoskie, N.C. 27910.
