A 46-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday.
State police said Douglas Merriman of the Battery Park community was traveling south on Va. Route 665 just north of Route 607 about 1:25 a.m., when the 1987 Chevrolet van he was driving ran off the right side of the road.
The van overturned and Merriman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.
State police said alcohol appeared to have been a factor in the accident.
