Mr. Lee Forbes, age 40, of 194 Sharon Church Road, South Mills, N.C., died Tuesday, August 1, 1995, in Albermarle Hospital.
He was a native of Lee County, N.C., and owner and operator of Lee Forbes Construction Company. Mr. Forbes was a member, Sunday school teacher, and certified lay speaker for McBride United Methodist Church.
Mr. Forbes was a member of the New Lebanon Masonic Lodge (NU)314 A.F. & A.M. He worked with the Pasquotank-Camden County Rescue Squad and was a volunteer fireman with the South Mills Volunteer Fire Department. He was a CPR and First Aid instructor for the American Heart Association and was a student at Tidewater Community College acquiring his paramedic certification. Mr. Forbes was the First Aid Merit Badge counselor for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 175.
Mr. Forbes was the son of Charlie Forbes and Beth Wicker Forbes of South Mills, N.C., and the husband of Cathy Powers Forbes of South Mills, N.C.; he is also survived by one daughter, Sarah Wynne Forbes of South Mills, N.C.; and a son, David Montelle Forbes of South Mills, N.C.; and one sister, Veronica Forbes Wilson of North Hollywood, Calif. Mr. Forbes is predeceased by a son, Jason Montelle Forbes.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 1995, at McBride United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carolyn Smith and the Rev. Phillip Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at his parents' residence, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie R. Forbes, 308 Main St., South Mills, N.C. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church St., Elizabeth City, on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to McBride United Methodist Church, Pasquotank-Camden Rescue Squad, or the American Heart Association.
