Lester Rudolph Woodard, 74, of the 7400 block of Adele Drive, died August 2, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Woodard was a retired warehouse supervisor for the Civil Service, where he worked for 30 years. He was born in Kenly, N.C., and was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in North Carolina. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star twice.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie R. Woodard; two sons, Michael K. Woodard and Mark K. Woodard, both of Norfolk; three sisters, Ruby Creech of Kenly, N.C., Vashti Brame of Wilson, N.C., and Mildred Rains of Kenly, N.C.; one brother, James P. Woodard of Spring Hope, N.C.; six grandchildren, Melissa Woodard, Brenda Woodard, Markcus Woodard, Eric Woodard, Keri Woodard and Keith Kapustka.
A funeral service will conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 1995, by Pastor Larry Davis, in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial is at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
