Dennis L. ``Buzzard'' Phillips, 39, of the 1200 block of Alcindor Road, died August 1, 1995, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mr. Phillips worked five years as a rigger crew leader for Global Shipyard. He was born in Portsmouth, Va., and was a former member of First Church of Deliverance II, in Portsmouth.
He is survived by his wife, Natashi R. Phillips; three daughters, Tresha T. Phillips, Tajeiana D. Phillips, both of Portsmouth, and Denica Staton of Kentucky; one son, Dennis Walton of Portsmouth; his mother, Lena Phillips of Portsmouth; five sisters; five brothers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 1995, by the Rev. Clarence V. Russell Jr. in Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Norfolk, Va. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, Va. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today.
