CLYDE A. MARTIN

Clyde Allen Martin, 91, a former longtime resident of Norfolk, died Aug. 6, 1995, in an Elizabeth City, N.C., hospital.

Mr. Martin was the son of the late George G. Martin Sr. and Alberta Yeatts Martin. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Helen Martin. He was retired from E.T. Gresham Co. as a truck driver after 25 years. Mr. Martin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Pythians Lodge (NU)106, and the American Legion Post (NU)288 of Coinjock, N.C.

He is survived by a niece, Bonney T. McClellan of Norfolk; two nephews, Wayne L. Martin of Grandy, N.C., and Alan D. Martin of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Otis Colston. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
