David W. Gowdy, 42, of the 1300 block of East Norcova Drive, died Aug. 9, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mr. Gowdy, a cable locator for Cox Cable, was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Gowdy; one daughter, Elizabeth Gowdy; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Boyce and Barbara Boyce, both of Norfolk; one son, Forrest Gowdy; one stepson, Ronald Boyce of Norfolk; his mother, Alice Durham of Portsmouth; his stepfather, Guy Durham of Portsmouth; three sisters, Karen Arbin and Cathy Nesbitt, both of Portsmouth, and Marcia Musselwhite of Corapeake, N.C.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Vernon Murray. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
