Andrew Joseph Mattucci, 76, formerly of Portsmouth, died Aug. 13, 1995, in a Hampton hospital.
Mr. Mattucci, a native of Akron, Ohio, was a retired Portsmouth police officer and was a deputy sheriff and detective for the Summit County Sheriff's Department in Summit County, Ohio. Mr. Mattucci was Catholic and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Iva G. Mattucci.
Survivors include three daughters, Marlene Bremer of Chesapeake, Peggy Jones of Portsmouth, and Marie Blaurock of Akron, Ohio; two sons, Edward A. Mattucci of Franklin, and Robert J. Mattucci of Batesville, Ind.; one sister, Josephine Lauratta of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Paul Mattucci of Beaverton, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Father Thomas B. Nee. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
