Lillian Sturgis Doughty, 85, died Aug. 14, 1995, in N.A.M. Hospital, Nassawadox.
Mrs. Doughty, the widow of Major Roberson Doughty Jr., taught 32 years in Accomack and Northampton County public schools. She was the daughter of the late James Crawley and Elva Waterfield Sturgis. She was a member of Pungoteague United Methodist Church, and she served as church organist and Sunday school teacher for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Elsie Doughty Jones of Norfolk; one niece, Anne Sturgis Urban of Richmond; one nephew, James G. Sturgis of Milwaukee, Ore.; and one granddaughter, Melanie Woodman of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Onancock Cemetery, by the Rev. Charles N. Weist. Friends may call at Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
