Sammie Berman, 82, died Aug. 13, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mr. Berman, a retired civil service worker, worked for the Naval Air Rework Facility, in Norfolk, for 30 years. He was born in Norfolk. He was a veteran of foreign wars, past member of Moose Lodge in Norfolk, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and he served in the Asian theater.
Survivors include his wife, Donnie Sawyer Berman of Chesapeake; two sons, Philip Steven Berman of Chesapeake, and Richard Louis Berman of Carlsbad, Calif.; one sister, Eunice Berlin of Cypress, Calif.; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Pastor Fritz Stegeman. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
