All Elizabeth City-Pasquotank public school systems suspended operations at 1 p.m. Wednesday to await the passage of Hurricane Felix.
Charles White, school spokesman, said all staff members were sent home on administrative leave. There will be no school operations today; an announcement about Friday school openings will be made when a decision is reached by Superintendent Joseph W. Peel and his staff.
