Col. Jesse Jackson Trotter Sr., 76, of Virginia Beach, died Aug. 15, 1995, in a Virginia Beach Hospital.
Col. Trotter was a native of Norfolk. Col. Trotter served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Some of his stations included Japan, Germany and Alaska and he saw action in Guam, Leyte and Okinawa. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Clusters, Purple Heart and retired after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy W. Trotter; two daughters, Denise T. Blackerby of Bonhan, Texas, Deborah C. Trotter of Virginia Beach; a son, Col. Jesse J. Trotter Jr. of Grafton, Md.; a brother, Edgar B. Trotter of Norfolk; and four grandchildren, Jesse J. Trotter III, Michael Gregory, Richard Gregory III and Chelsea Blackerby.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert A. Edwards. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
