LUCILLE B. EDWARDS

Lucille Brett Edwards, 88, of 28170 Palm St., died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Hertford County, N.C., and was a longtime resident of Franklin. She was the widow of Roger D. Edwards, her husband of 65 years, and was the daughter of the late W.L. and Mary Barnes Brett. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and its T.E.L. Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane E. Darden of Newsoms and Betty E. Beauvais of Franklin; three sons, Roger D. ``Dan'' Edwards Jr., S. Earl Edwards and Rudolph B. Edwards, all of Franklin; two sisters, Helen Brett and Thelma B. Britt, both of Murfreesboro, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by one granddaughter, Nancy Rose Darden. Other survivors include two special companions, Martha Ann Beale and Lois Wellington.

The funeral will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sycamore Baptist Church by the Rev. Reginald Warren. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and suggest memorials be made to the Franklin Rescue Squad or Sycamore Baptist Church.
