OLIVER C. BEAN JR.

Oliver Charles Bean Jr., 68, of the 200 block of West Oceanview, died at his residence Thursday Aug. 17, 1995.

He was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Newport, N.H., and was the son of the late Oliver Charles Bean Sr. and Ethel Seace Bean. Mr. Bean was retired from the U.S. Navy as chief petty officer 2nd class after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth Wayne Bean Sr. and daughter-in-law, Francine Francen Bean of Atlanta; one sister, Hazel Courtemanche of Hartford, Vt.; three grandchildren, John W. Bean of Hawkinsville, Ga., Kenneth W. Bean Jr. and Michael Paul Bean, both of Atlanta. He is also survived by a host of other family members such as uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Fleet Reserve Association, 9611 1st View St., Norfolk, Va. 23503. Twiford's Funeral Home, Ghent Chapel, 1920 Colley Ave., Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements.
