Katie Chapman Wood, 88, of the 3100 block of Shore Drive, died Aug. 19, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Wood was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Robert S. Wood. She had previously worked as a dental technician in Norfolk and was retired as a Realtor with Goodman, Segar, Hogan after more than 20 years. She was a member of Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church, The King's Daughters Circle and Norfolk City Union. She was a former member of Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.
Survivors include a niece and her husband, Barbara Miller Trant and Thomas B. Trant of Virginia Beach; three great-nephews and their wives, Thomas H. Trant and Leigh of York County, Va., James R. Trant and Leslie of Simpsonville, S.C., and John M. Trant and Lily of Baton Rouge, La.; a great-niece and her husband, Thirza Trant Tippett and David of Virginia Beach; and three cousins, Jack W. Siebert and wife Jean of Virginia Beach, Audell Ames and Edward Ames.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Memorial Park by Dr. John O. Monroe. The family will receive friends at the niece's residence in Virginia Beach. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church or to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
