DONALD V. TAYLOR

Donald Victor Taylor, 73, of the 1800 block of Citadel Court, died Aug. 21, 1995, in his residence.

Mr. Taylor, a retired police officer from New York, also was a retired inspector for Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He was born in New York and was a member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, Virginia Beach. He was a member of the Police Association of New York State and 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus. A Marine veteran of World War II, he earned a Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Taylor; two daughters, Linda Carriero of Buffalo, N.Y., and Judith J. Latham of Chesapeake; two sons, Donald A. Taylor of Portsmouth and Bruce E. Taylor of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Wilma Mirek of California and Ethna Strong of New York; two brothers, Richard Taylor of Pennsylvania and Charles Taylor of New York; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joan; and grandson, Brian.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church by Father Anselm Ober. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
