Emma L. Jones Freeman, 82, of the 3300 block of Merlin Court, died Aug. 21, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mrs. Freeman, the widow of the Rev. Wilsie Freeman, was a practical nurse at Lake Taylor City Hospital. She was the daughter of Matthew and Minerva Jones, and was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church, and its Senior Missionary Circle. She was born in Norfolk County.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann F. Cody, Constance Zimmerman, both of Portsmouth, and Angelyn K. Stacy of Chesapeake; three sons, Wilsie L. Freeman Jr. of Washington, D.C., John E. Freeman of Norfolk, and Anthony L. Freeman of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Bobby E. Freeman.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in New Calvary Baptist Church, 800 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., by the Rev. G.G. Campbell. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The family will be at 3309 Merlin Court.
